Antidumping laws protect consumers from low prices. Since the creation of the WTO and the declining importance of tariffs and quotas, antidumping laws have become the protectionist tool of choice for an increasing number of countries. Domestic producers use them to prevent foreigners from selling their products to willing consumers. There is no way to reform antidumping laws because they are structurally deficient. They must be abolished, the sooner the better.
