Commentators from the ‘Right’ have contributed little to ‘is‐it‐art’ discussions. The Saatchi Sensation exhibition of 1997 offers the opportunity to explain what contribution anti‐socialist, anti‐collectivist writers might make. In particular, they should be honest in their response to contemporary art rather than treating it as a no‐go area.
