Bernadette Boyle argues that the prevalence of voice disorders is almost certainly higher than research indicates. She outlines the causes of the disorder, its characteristics and the types of therapy recommended. Boyle concludes that while the principles of therapy are broadly similar to those deployed with adults, the treatment strategy needs to be different for children.
