This article helps those who are not already familiar with normative political theory to find their way around the N ordic scene. It surveys works that have come out of the N ordic countries from 1990 onwards. They are filed under five headings: (1) studies of political decision making; (2) distributive and retributive justice; (3) priorities and standards of policy in assorted areas; (4) boundaries between jurisdictions; and (5) meta‐normative matters. Before the survey begins, and in a sequel to the last part of it, the nature of normative political theory will be explicated.
