The taxonomic history, relationships, distribution and cultural requirements of Daphniphyllum himalaense (Benth.) Muüll.‐Arg. subsp. macropodum (Miq.) T.C. Huang (Daphniphyllaceae), a small to medium‐sized evergreen tree native to China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan, are reviewed. A description and floral diagnoses are presented.
