Carol A. Potter, a research associate at the University of Durham, and Helen L. Richardson, a governor trainer and support co‐ordinator, explore an approach to the development of reflective abilities amongst classroom assistants, whose need for appropriate training was recognised in the White Paper Excellence in Schools (DfEE, 1997).
