Cover image: A ninespotted lady beetle ( Coccinella novemnotata ) is on the hunt for aphids and a source of dietary sterols. New research by Ugine et al. shows that predacious lady beetles across multiple genera do not obtain sufficient sterols from their aphid prey to maximize their fitness. In response to sterol‐limitation, lady beetles shift their diet and consume plant tissues that contain phytosterols, which greatly improves their reproductive success via increased sperm production.
