Cover image: Bats are highly social animals, as in this colony with individuals of three different species ( Myotis myotis, M. capaccinii , and Miniopterus schreibersii ). Lewanzik et al. now show in a large‐scale field experiment that echolocating bats also use social information while foraging: they listen to the echolocation calls of other bats to integrate information on species identity, conspecific activity, and prey abundance (see pp. 1462–1473).
