Energy-Efficient Data Centers

As demands on data centers grow exponentially, its time for another holistic, clean-slate redesign. Improvements should encompass new server architectures, heterogeneous computing platforms, radical networking paradigms, new mechanical and electrical designs, intelligent cluster management, and a radical rethinking of software architectures that also considers changing use patterns. This special issue investigates many of these opportunities and challenges.
