After mentioning Mises' few contributions to international monetary economics I first review Hayek's views on international economics. I then try to find out if Haberler's and Machlup's contributions to international economics do show any special Austrian traits. After that, I turn to Schumpeter. Schumpeter may have been of an older generation than Hayek, Machlup and Haberler, but he stood farther apart from the core of Austrian thinking than they did. The first generation of Austrians is not studied here, nor are the present-day neo-Austrians
