The technique of individual orientation measurement allows the calculation a total texture function by the harmonic method. However, it is necessary to test some of the parameters used to model each orientation. One important parameter is the shape of the function so the influence of two distributions (Gaussian and Lorentzian) is discussed. With adjustment of some other parameters, such as p , which characterizes the texture sharpness, it appears that similar results are obtained with the two models even if the Lorentzian function is more difficult to apply to polycrystalline materials.
