The application of an ultrafast analogue‐to‐digital converter and a high‐performance‐single board microcomputer permits the construction of a very fast and versatile multichannel analyser (MCA) at low cost. With the powerful instruction set of the microprocessor MC 68000, an intelligent all‐round MCA could be realised with useful correction software on the single‐board microcomputer. This MCA was used successfully for a data collection by Laue techniques with a four‐circle diffractometer.
