Modifications to the high‐stability mounting device for the closed‐cycle helium cryostat as developed by Henriksen, Larsen & Rasmussen [ J. Appl. Cryst. (1986). 19 , 390–394] are described. They allow use of the cryostat on the smaller Huber 511.1 diffractometer circle with a smaller source‐to‐sample distance and reduced blind and collision zones.
