A high‐temperature (298 to 1400 K) attachment, is described, which can be used on single‐crystal X‐ray four‐circle diffractometers. The high temperature is attained by blowing a stream of hot gas on the crystal. The temperature and the flow are regulated within ± 3 K. The same attachment can be used to heat single crystals mounted on precession cameras. A larger version has been developed for neutron diffraction. The results of some experiments performed with this attachment together with future developments are discussed.
