Pb 2 SO 5 (lanarkite) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C 2/ m with a = 13.746(3), b = 5.6964(9), c = 7.066(1) Å and β = 115.79(1)°. The structure of a powdered sample synthesized at 973 K could be refined by the conventional methods to an R of 0.051. The JCPDS Diffraction File No. for Pb 2 SO 5 is 33‐1486.
