Single crystals of [Cu(bpy) 2 NO 2 ]ClO 4 , [Cu(C 10 H 8 N 2 ) 2 NO 2 ]ClO 4 , C 20 H 16 CuN 5 O 2 .ClO 4 , with space group P 2 1 / c , were grown from the reacting mixture of bis(2,2′‐bipyridyl)copper(I) perchlorate with molecular oxygen in nitroalkanes. The unit‐cell parameters are a = 10.83 (2), b = 12.51 (1), c = 17.04 (1) Å, β = 112.0 (2)°, Z = 4, D m = 1.62 (1) Mg m −3 .
