The modulations from the ideal crystal structures are detected for the non‐stoichiometric compound YFe 2 O 4 and related compounds such as YbFe 2 O4, Yb 2 Fe 3 O 7 and Yb 3 Fe 4 O 10 through the extra reflections in the electron‐diffraction patterns. Those reflections observed in YFe 2 O 3.91 might possibly be related to the characteristic magnetic behavior denoted as `parasitic ferrimagnetism'.
