X‐ray powder diffraction data for SrAl 2 O 4 have been obtained from the pure synthetized compound. The crystals of SrAl 2 O 4 are monoclinic, with unit‐cell parameters: a = 5.1497 (8), b = 8.836 (2), c = 8.442 (1) Å, β = 93.43 (1)°; space group P 2 1 or P 2 1 / m .
