The thermal expansion of tensor of benzalazine (dibenzalhydrazine, benzylideneazine, C 14 H 12 N 2 ) was calculated from the changes of the lattice constants with temperature, as measured with X‐ray diffraction. The principle components of the thermal expansion tensor at 293 K are α a = 19.6 (7), α b = 38 (2) and α c = 167 (4) × 10 −6 K −1 .
