The compounds, M (SeO 4 ) 2 .4H 2 O, where M = Zr 4+ and Ce 4+ , are orthorhombic with space group Fddd . a = 26.44 ± 0.03, b = 11.92 ± 0.01, c = 5.632 ± 0.006 Å for the zirconium compound and a = 27.31 ± 0.02, b = 12.38 ± 0.01, c = 5.736 ± 0.006 Å for the cerium compound. X‐ray powder diffraction data are reported.
