Barium silver trimetaphosphate tetrahydrate: BaAgP 3 O 9 .4H 2 O is monoclinic with a unit cell: a = 21.35 (3), b = 7.163 (3), c = 18.35 (2) Å, β = 121.72 (5)°, Z = 8, space group = Cc or C 2/ c . Barium silver trimetaphosphate: BaAgP 3 O 9 is orthorhombic with a unit cell: a = 11.05 (1), b = 12.28 (1), c = 5.903 (5) Å, Z = 4, space group: P 2 1 2 1 2 1 . These two salts are isotypic with the corresponding barium–sodium salts: BaNaP 3 O 9 . 4H 2 O and BaNaP 3 O 9 previously described by the authors.
