A simple method is described for the experimental determination of the type of scan and of the horizontal and vertical divergences of the neutron radiation elastically diffracted by a single‐crystal sample. The experimental set‐up which gave the maximum intensity was used, with coarse in‐pile collimation, a graphite monochromator at λ≃1 Å and no monochromator‐sample and sample‐detector collimators.
