Absolute reflectivities, width of rocking curves and effective absorption coefficients for many pyrolytic graphite crystals at different wavelengths were measured. The results can be described within a few percent by the formulae for the ideal mosaic crystal with absorption. Effective absorption is caused by unavoidable parasitic reflections. The measured effective absorption coefficient is the same for different specimens; it does not depend on the mosaic width. By means of this effective absorption, the peak reflectivity decreases with increasing mosaic width.
