Powder X‐ray diffraction patterns were obtained for the series of synthesized compounds RCo 2 Ge 2 with R = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, and Y. The compounds have been indexed on the basis of a tetragonal unit cell with two formula units per cell. Except for YbCo 2 Ge 2 the series shows the expected lanthanide contraction.
