Some samples of S, Se, Te and S–Se and S–Te mixtures have been irradiated by fast electrons (up to 50 keV). Allotropic modifications of S and Se have been observed; these are due to the polymerization of opened S 8 and Se 8 rings under the effect of polarization of the electron beam.
