X‐ray study of tetragonal PbO electrolytically deposited on rolled Pb substrate

Observations of preferred orientation in the rolled Pb substrate and in the anodically deposited tetragonal PbO of a Pb/PbO( t ) voltaic cell, by X‐ray diffraction, are reported. A Pb → PbO( t ) transformation mechanism is described for the orientation relationship, (110) PbO( t ) (100) Pb .
