The shift and diffuseness of electron diffraction spots due to stacking faults were observed in martensite crystals with 3 R close‐packed structure. The analysis of these shifted and diffused spots by the Kakinoki–Komura theory shows that 3 R structure martensite is faulted in such a way that its stacking sequence changes to that of the 9 R close‐packed structure.
