Crystallite sizes and microstrains together with the degree of order have been measured by X‐ray diffractometry for cold‐worked Mg 48 at.% In. Ordering and increase of crystallite size occur simultaneously at room temperature and the density of antiphase domain boundaries is low. A large increase in the 〈111〉 and 〈202〉 crystallite sizes compared with that in other lattice directions probably indicates that coherent boundaries remain in the lattice.
