Preparation, indexed X‐ray powder data, unit‐cell dimensions and space groups of a series of new orthorhombic basic alkali cobalt(II) sulfates are given. The general formula is M 2 Co 3 (OH) 2 (SO 4 ) 3 .2H 2 O or M 2 SO 4 .2CoSO 4 .Co(OH) 2 .2H 2 O, M being K + , NH 4 + , Rb + , Cs + or Tl + . The corresponding Na + compound contains four water molecules instead of two.
