Lattice constants of yttrium and gadolinium iron and gallium garnets and of yttrium aluminium garnet have been measured in the temperature range 296–1400°K. The results show that among these, GdGaG gives the closest match of Δ a /a 0 vs . T to YIG and to GdIG.
