The UB matrix approach has been extended to handle inelastic neutron scattering experiments with differing and . We have considered the typical goniometer employed on triple‐axis and time‐of‐flight spectrometers. Expressions are derived to allow for calculation of the UB matrix and for converting from observables to Q ‐energy space. In addition, we have developed appropriate modes for calculation of angles for a specified Q ‐energy position.
