This paper describes the formation of two kinds of mixed crystals of MgCl 2 and NaCl by ball milling magnesium chloride–ethanol adducts together with sodium chloride. X‐ray diffraction analysis of the ball‐milled MgCl 2 .2.5C 2 H 5 OH–NaCl powder shows that the two mixed crystals are NaMgCl 3 and Na 2 MgCl 4 .
