Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic disease of the myocardium. Although many patients remain asymptomatic, sudden cardiac death could be the first manifestation of HCM. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role in the diagnosis and management of this disease.
