Despite plans and processes designed to create a seamless transition from orientation to practice for new RNs, nurses may still struggle with this process. With a focus on preceptorship, this article discusses the transition process for newly licensed nurses during onboarding and nursing orientation. It identifies challenges and communication strategies to enhance the learning experience throughout preceptorship.
