Over the past century, the overuse and misuse of antibiotics have lead to create antimicrobial‐resistant bacteria(namely, superbugs) such as methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and vancomycin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus(VRSA). Worldwide growing of antibiotic use and the dramatic rise of antibiotic‐resistant bacteria have recently become serious health and social issues. Many researches have been conducted to get free from the threats of antibiotic resistance. This review is focused research and development trend on S&T advances against antibiotic resistant bacteria through scientometric analysis. Especially some implications in the case of South Korea, which has much use of antibiotics were derived from R&D trend analysis of each country.
