REG Life Sciences acquired LS9 in January of 2014 and is advancing its microbial fatty acid technology platform. Microbial fatty acid metabolism has been demonstrated as a versatile platform for the production of diverse renewable chemicals and fuels. From novel raw materials for the oleochemical and food industries to drop‐in and advantaged products for the fuel, commodity, and high‐value chemical industries, new applications of this pathway continue to emerge. REG Life Sciences is focused on the systematic control of microbial fatty acid metabolism to synthesize new chemical families, control structure within each family, and optimize production efficiency to support scalable commercial processes. This talk shall briefly review the REG Life Sciences technology platform and highlight specific examples of new product pathways and the optimization of our most advanced product platforms.
