At this very moment science is under fire. Law makers are slashing budgets and funding opportunities are becoming more and more competitive. So who fights for the scientists? Who helps inform policy makers about the importance of the scientific endeavor? They are people commonly referred to as science policy professionals. Science policy is a loosely defined profession with potentially tremendous impacts. The impact of science policy can occur at the local, state and federal/national level. In this session I will cover the importance of connecting all three levels and how your scientific training has uniquely prepared you for this career away from the bench.
