Purification of DNA from tissues can be carried out by several methods. The ease of purification, yield and functionality of the DNA isolated varies depending on the method used. Using both frozen and fresh chick embryos, we tested several kits and traditional methods. Comparative analysis of the yields, purity, and integrity of fresh tissue versus frozen tissue were measured. Support or Funding Information University of Michigan Dearborn Campus Grants
