A half‐sized model of a common pig ( Sus suis ) belonged to the Brieux‐Gillot's scientific library in Paris. It was dismantabled and écorché on the left half and represented the cutaneous aspect on the right side which was fixed on a wooden, 25 × 70 cm, basis. The two ears were removable without any detail, the anterior left leg and the left half of the head were separately removable and the left trunk and the posterior leg made the largest dismantabled part with inside the representation of the main viscera. The datation looked to be the first part of the 20th century. Each element especially the muscular ones were numbered corresponding to a list which was not known. The only label on the basis was the cardinal arrow of a compass. A large red number was painted on the superior face of the basis. This kind of pig's model is quite common for the animal studies, it looked anatomically correct and conform to classical textbooks for instance Barone, edited by Masson in Paris.
