The objective is to demonstrate the development, use and evaluation of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutriguides' Mobile App. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics NutriGuides Mobile App was launched in 2012 to provide easy access of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Evidence Based Guidelines. NutriGuides is an app for use on smart phones, iPads, Android and is available on iTunes and Google store. This unique global communication tool gives users immediate access to over 300 nutrition recommendations from the Evidence Analysis Library®. Nutrition recommendations along with the strength of the supporting evidence ratings are available over a wide range of diseases and conditions, nutrients, foods, nutrition over the life cycle as well as topics in the Nutrition Care process. A 2013 on line survey and a subsequent 16 person focus group chosen from the survey was assembled to verify the effectiveness of the App. The focus group participated in a 90 minute webinar to discuss survey results and develop recommendations for improvement. Participants, for their efforts, received an incentive of a free electronic evidence nutrition practice toolkit for participation. The 32 question survey yielded the following key results: 1. 81.3% from the focus group survey use the I‐Phone. 2. 62.5% of the focus were first time users and the remaining participants had previous App experience. 3. 64.3% of the surveyed App users had a favorable experience and 35.7% has an unfavorable. 4. 78% reported the app is a useful resource for dietitians. These results indicate the NutriGuide Mobile App is valued among dietitians. The findings will be used to develop an improved app for educating on nutrition guidelines worldwide.
