Hallux valgus is a common structural deformity. The abductor hallucis muscle is involved in the etiology and treatment of this entity. Motor points are defined as the point of entry of the branches of a nerve in a given muscle. There are no studies to clarify the location of the motor point of the abductor hallucis muscle. The precise location of these points in the abductor hallucis muscle can contribute to clarifying the pathophysiology and have therapeutic implications in cases of hallux valgus, representing an important contribution from anatomy to clinical practice. Objective To determine the location of motor points of the abductor hallucis muscle Methods Dissection of 4 feet previously set, belonging to the anatomy lab of USP and location of motor points‐based location system in the Cartesian plane with their axes based on bony landmarks corpses. Results We found one or two points in the lower half of the abductor hallucis muscle in feet and found a spot in the top half of the muscle near the head of the metatarsal. Conclusion These parameters help to avoid iatrogenic injuries in surgical approaches, as well as understand and develop treatments for myofascial pain.
