Protein synthesis (translation) is accomplished by ribosomes in all living cells. Ribosomes decode genetic information encoded in messenger RNA and catalyze peptide‐bond formation. We study the mechanisms of translation translation regulation, using structural and biochemical methods. Here, we will present new structural insights into regulation of translation on the ribosome under cellular stress and/or disease.
