Physicochemical and bacteriological analyses were carried out on lake water, used for drinking and swimming purposes in Përlepnica nearby Gjilani city, Kosovo. The objective of this study is to assess the quality of water, of the Lake Përlepnica during winter season, 2013 year, through the microbiological analysis. None of the samples complied with bacteriological standards as Total coliform counts generally exceeded 1,600 MPN/ml, and pathogen count such as Salmonella‐Shigella counts counts were very high. Based on achieving results led us to conclude: The waters of Llake Përlepnica are high polluted by bacteria at all investigated localities(3).
