This workshop continues the series of workshops on Promoting Concept Driven Teaching Strategies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology through Concept Assessments, and will focus on the integration of the foundational concepts of evolution and homeostasis with the other three core content areas, Energy, Structure and Function, and Information Storage, identified in the RCN‐UBE project to align with the content areas of the ASBMB Accreditation programAfter a brief introduction and progress report of the overall project, the discussion will focus first on the critical tenants of evolution and homeostasis and how they are integrated into the other core content areas. After a review of sample questions integrating these topics to illustrate the use of different Bloom's levels in questions, the workshop will continue with a session on question and grading rubric development, and conclude with a discussion of best practices for teaching these integrated concepts and using assessments in the classroom.
