Anatomy education has undergone significant change, not least because of the growth in bespoke e‐learning packages. Neuroanatomy is considered to be the most difficult topic in the preclinical curriculum; a perception which has been compounded by the reduction in formal time spent in the dissection room. Complimenting formal teaching with e‐learning tools is not new; however, developing a package to blend the virtual and physical learning environments to create a seamless educational experience is. At Southampton we developed a fully interactive e‐learning booklet to compliment the neuroanatomy course. It brought together a range of e‐learning products and made them accessible via a single portal, available for both mobile and desktop platforms. Results from evaluation (N = 185) revealed a take up rate of 65%. 90% of students who used the resource rated it as very good or good. Students rated the interactive diagrams as their favorite aspect, the discussion board the least popular. Despite the intention being for mobile use 14% of students accessed the package through a tablet computer, the majority were choosing access through their home PC (55%). Results indicate that this intervention was successful in supporting learning. The next generation of e‐booklet will offer access to radiographs and answers to practical questions, which may shift student's learning habits. Nonetheless, the versatility of the e‐booklet means that it can be used during practical based learning or after the learning has taken place, this provides a more personalized learning opportunity to suit the specific learning needs of students.
