Japan Society of Nutrition and Food Science (JSNFS) was established in 1947 and to contribute advancement and dissemination in nutrition and food science and therefore, public health in Japan through providing and exchanging information on nutrition and food science. It has 4,500 active members and has long placed high value on international activities. JSNFS hosted Asian Congress of Nutrition (ACN) in 1987 and will hold the 12th ACN in 2015. It co‐organized International Congress of Nutrition (ICN) in 1975 and will take a pivotal role in hosting the 22nd ICN in 2021. I will introduce other activities of JSNFS including IUNS workshop and deep cooperations with nutrition societies of many countries.
