This study aimed to investigate the fruit and vegetable consumption status of Korean adolescents and its relationships with sociodemographic factors using the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web‐based Survey (KYRBWS) in 2006 and 2011. The prevalence of vegetable intake over once a day excluding salted vegetable among 12–18 year‐olds was 58.2% in 2006 and 45.2% in 2011. The prevalence of fruit intake over once a week excluding fruit juice was 32.3% in 2006 and 20.3% in 2011. In 2006 survey, female adolescents (OR=0.823) were less likely to consume vegetables over once a day and adolescents perceiving their household income level ‘middle’ (OR=0.882) and ‘low’ (OR=0.819) were less likely to consume vegetables over once a day. In case of fruit consumption, female adolescents (OR=1.197) were more likely to consume fruits over once a day and adolescents perceiving their household income level ‘middle’ (OR=0.651) and ‘low’ (OR=0.424) were less likely to consume fruits over once a day. In 2011 survey, there was no relationship with vegetable intake and gender. Adolescents perceiving their household income level ‘middle’ (OR=0.851) and ‘low’ (OR=0.835) were less likely to consume vegetables over once a day. Female adolescents (OR=1.227) were more likely to consume fruits over once a day and adolescents perceiving their household income level ‘middle’ (OR=0.639) and ‘low’ (OR=0.492) were less likely to consume fruits over once a day.
