Neuropharmacology course is required for PharmD students in Pharmacy curriculum. In this course, students follow standard pharmacology text books, with minimal coverage of basic or clinical neuroscience. Extensive knowledge of drugs that are used for treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders, their adverse effects and interactions are very important to pharmacy profession. The present study has investigated how to improve the level of neuropharmacology education for PharmD students by using clinical cases studies relevant to therapeutic management of neuropsychiatric disorders. The results showed a significant difference in student performance before and after adding these clinical case studies. Overall, this study suggests that addition of clinical case studies which show the effects of drugs and adverse effects on improved PharmD students’ performance and comprehension in studying neuropharmacology course.
