Bilayer gelatin‐based matrices were fabricated through the freeze‐drying method by using glutaraldehyde solution as crosslinker. Bilayer and monolayer matrices were prepared by using whether forming technique or not. The morphologies of bilayer porous matrices were observed via SEM and Micro‐CT. Then, the mechanical properties of scaffolds were measured by bending and tensile test of the matrices using dynamic mechanical analyzer. Thus, the bilayer matrices showed interconnected‐porous structure and desirable mechanical strength. The results suggested that the bilayer gelatin‐based matrices would be utilized as a promising matrix for tissue engineering.
