Cystathionine b‐synthase gene is overexpressed in Down syndrome. We have successfully used a mathematical model to study the impact of CBS overexpression on the one‐carbon metabolism. (150% of its normal Vmax) changed the profile of metabolites when compared with 100% of Vmax. The model allowed running the overexpression of RFC, FTCD and GART. The model may be a helpful tool in the future to study in silico metabolic and disease processes.
